Mental Health Awareness Month At The Bright Harbor Foundation Mental Health & Wellness Fair

At the Bright Harbor Foundation, we believe that everyone should have access to mental health support and services. That’s why we are proud to host the annual Mental Health & Wellness Fair during Mental Health Awareness Month this May. Our goal is to bring attention to the importance of mental health and provide resources to help individuals in need.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 20th from 10 am to 3 pm at Traders Cove Marina in Brick, NJ.

Why Mental Health Awareness Month is Important

Mental health is a critical aspect of overall well-being, yet it often goes overlooked. Mental Health Awareness Month is an opportunity to bring attention to this important issue and raise awareness about the prevalence of mental health conditions.

It was started in the United States in 1949 by the Mental Health America organization (then known as the National Association for Mental Health). Each year, millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition. In fact, 1 in 4 US adults will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime.

The Mental Health & Wellness Fair aims to provide a safe and welcoming environment for individuals to learn about mental health and connect with resources in the community.

What is the Bright Harbor Foundation?

The Bright Harbor Foundation actively collects donations and hosts fundraisers to assist patients at Bright Harbor Healthcare. Their goal is to help people with mental health needs have access to the services and support they need, allowing them to live healthier and succeed in their treatment goals. Above all, the Bright Harbor Foundation aims to build community awareness, facilitate community support, promote diversity of services, and embrace innovation when it comes to mental health.

What to Expect at the Mental Health & Wellness Fair

The Mental Health & Wellness Fair features a variety of resources and activities for individuals of all ages. Some of the highlights of this year’s event include:

Special Guest Host Bob Scott

Bob Scott from The Game Show Night will be playing songs and games all afternoon. Whether you come in a group or by yourself, Bob will have everyone playing together for a chance to win cash and prizes!

Two Gentle Yoga Sessions With Angie

Angela Maguire will be there to lead two outdoor yoga sessions open to all levels of mastery. She is an RYT-200 Holistic Yoga Flow teacher dedicated to using movement and breath to feel more alive and connected. To participate, be sure to bring your own yoga mat.

We welcome individuals of all ages to attend the fair and learn about mental health and wellness. Each mind matters!
