Visiting with the students and staff of Ocean Academy earlier this year was a truly amazing experience. In the hours I spent with the students, sharing my life experiences and art, I found their response to be very receptive and open. To get them talking and engaged, I would show a piece of art and ask for their thoughts on the subject. Their responses dealt with their feelings and emotions in a very honest way. Ultimately, we spent more than hour going back and forth with questions and answers. The students were very creative and gave me their full attention, as did the teachers who are so obviously engaged in their work.
