Programs
Ocean Academy Programs combine academics and counseling services to ensure your child has all the tools they need to succeed. Our dedicated staff follows each students’ progress and provides the appropriate support and guidance to keep them moving forward. We offer numerous courses of study to not only meet but exceed the New Jersey core curriculum standards.
Our Academic Programs Include
- An education in accordance with New Jersey core curriculum standards
- Implementation of the student’s IEP
- Small class ratios with a teacher assistant in each class
- State certified teachers who are highly qualified
- An effective behavioral management system that encourages positive and appropriate interactions and personal success
- Transitional services link students with unique opportunities for future career building and higher learning opportunities

Counseling Services
- Every student enrolled in Ocean Academy is assigned a school counselor. The counseling services provided by our staff include Individual, group, and family counseling, case management, and coordination of community resources, as indicated by the student’s IEP. Emergency services and crisis intervention are provided for those students requiring immediate intervention throughout the day.
Additional Services
- Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy are provided as per the student’s IEP.
- Students are permitted to participate in sports and clubs from their home school district. Ocean Academy provides behavior updates to coaches and club advisors.
- Computer-assisted instruction is designed to meet individual student needs and home internet access when needed.
- Students need to pass their courses to accumulate sufficient credit hours, as defined by their individual education plan (IEP), to receive a High School diploma on graduation.
- Extended school year program available.
