Ocean Academy had the privilege to be invited to Point Pleasant Boro High School’s; Youth Wellness Fair November 16th 2018. The Fair was hosted, by the Youth Wellness Club who developed and organized the event to reduce the stigma attached to mental illness and behavioral issues. All the students at the high school participated in the fair. Ocean Academy in addition to other organizations such as: Ocean Partnership for Children (CMO), The Society for Suicide Prevention, The Trevor Project, and Second Floor youth Hotline, answered questions for the students. The students earned a gym test grade by visiting each organizations table and asking questions from a prepared list pertaining to mental/behavioral health. Most organizations offered the students freebies (e.g., pencils, pens, hand sanitizer, food, and stress balls) in addition to information about the services they provide. Our hats are off to the Youth Wellness Committee at Point Boro High School for organizing such a fun and informative event! #Xstigma
