During our monthly in-service, the staff at Ocean Academy had the great pleasure of meeting Mrs. Cheryl Hulteen. She introduced the art of improvisation in which the basis of its language is “YES YES GOOD”. This stands for saying YES to the ideas and creativity of our coworkers, while making each other look GOOD! Mrs. Hulteen taught us that we all possess “Multiple Intelligences”, a theory that identifies varying degrees of expertise in a particular area.Through improvisation, singing, dancing, and, laughing, we learned that we are all unique in the way we express ourselves and abilities as educators in the classroom.
As part of our Arts Infusion Program, Mrs. Hulteen will be introducing YES YES GOOD to the students, giving them an opportunity to discover and tap into their unique multiple intelligences and most of all, have a lot of fun doing it. This was a great in-service and we would like to thank Mrs. Cheryl Hulteen for her humor, knowledge, vibrant storytelling, and experience. We laughed together and were able to relax and let go, while simultaneously learning things about ourselves we never knew before.
