Living With Trauma

OceanMHS’ Path to Renewal Program unveiled our “Living With Trauma” educational video on June 25th at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Toms River to over 50 community leaders and mental health professionals.

The video describes the effects of trauma as by through the lives of three people.  Kelly, Julian and Barbara all share their stories to help each of us learn more about how traumatic events can cause emotional and behavioral challenges, and how their lives changed as a result.

The overall message is hopeful, with treatment and support recovery is possible, but the journey isn’t easy, and outside help can make all the difference.

This video is part of an hour long seminar, currently being presented at several Ocean County Library branches.  Arrangements can also be made to present the education seminar to other groups throughout Ocean County.   This event may be of particular interest to anyone affected by a physical, emotional or financial trauma, and anyone hoping to learn more about emotional and behavioral repercussions possible with the occurrence of traumatic events.

This seminar was made possible with support of the Community Foundation of NJ and Johnson & Johnson.

Check our Events page for an up to date list of community viewings.  For more information or to schedule a free group viewing (available through November 2015) please contact Alexis at 732-349-1977 ext 626.
